Virtual Networking for Beginners
I will shortly be doing an Azure administrator course that I think might need some prior knowledge on networking.
I’m not too familiar with networking so have a bit of time today to try and get up to speed.
What is a network?
A network is two or more computers that are linked together to share stuff or communicate. The computers on a network might be linked through physical cables, telephone lines, radio waves etc.
A business might find a computer network useful to:
- allow staff to access files for sharing and modifying (rather than emailing back and forwards or saving on desktop)
- add security measures (e.g. requirement to change password)
- connecting to printers etc.!
Networks can be public or private and can be lots of different sizes. Local Area Networks (LANs) are often used in offices. Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) are a way of accessing a private network using a public one.
How is that relevant to this Azure course?
I found some helpful info here!
